Karaite Torah Reading
We begin the reading of the
Torah on first Shabbat after Yom Shemini
‘Aseret (actually we read the first part of
the Parashah on Yom Shemini ‘Aseret [after reading Parashat
WeZot HaBerakhah],
then read the whole Parashah on the first Shabbat).
We do not postpone any Parashah because of any Holiday
(as is the custom of the Rabbanites) but read the
normal Parashah first, then the Parashah for the Holiday.
Therefore we may not always be reading the same Parashah as the
Rabbanites on any given Shabbat - it
all depends on the week in question. Our Hafatarot
