A 'Holy Convocation" is a public recitation of that which is holy, i.e., the recitation of the sections of the Torah in which the festival for which the convocation is taking place is mentioned. It could also mean a public announcement that it is a sacred or important day set aside for abstention from kinds of work forbidden on such days. |
